Time is a Tickin’…

Time is a Tickin'...

This whole “freedom” thing is not as stress-free as I thought it would be.

My parents don’t believe in “sleep ins”… I’ve been woken at 7am nearly everyday this week… that’s normal school time! I tried to have a nap just then and my mum told me off. Ugh!

Still no prom dress and less than a week until Ladakh. I want to cry. I really do.

Last night I went out with Lina for lunch and a mani-pedi, which was lovely. She found prom shoes that are gorgeous! Now I just have to survive my parents, Mr. Dickhead (aka Davis) and prom shopping.

Okay… I have to go and do other things because this isn’t free time yet. I don’t even know what’s going on today. I thought I did. Nope. *Rolls eyes*

It’s Always a Good Time

WOO! Ladies Night last night was so much fun!

I did a LOT yesterday. After getting the stitches out I went prom shopping with my mum and sister… found nothing. Again. Felt like crying but there’s no point.

Then I went home and watched Buffy until my friend showed up to go out for dinner. It was a Chemistry Thank You Dinner for my tutor and so pretty much the entire class was there, it was really nice. We went to a curry house (prep for Ladakh! Haha!) in Dempsy.

Image

So yeah! After dinner we got drinks at this random bar. I’d promised Chimmercharlie that I’d meet her at Clarke Quay at 10pm-ish but we changed plans last minute and I wound up picking her up from her place at 10 in a taxi before hitting the town. First stop: Chuppitos (or “ChupChups” as I’ve affectionately taken to calling it).

We downed $70 worth of alcohol. I’ve never had so much in my life! I had 4 shots (2 Red Headed Sluts, 1 Dark Knight and 1 Virgin’s Blush- don’t ever drink the Dark Knight, it made my lips tingle and my throat feel warm, I nearly died haha), and a drink (Green Lantern = yummy!). I HAVE DISCOVERED MY DRINK! I’m a Midori girl :3

So yeah, that done we then got stamped for Attica where they were having a special Ladies Night thing:

Image

We got a vodka/pineapple shot thing in a test tube at the door (couldn’t taste the vodka and that is saying something!!) as well as lollipops and candy floss. I was very tipsy by this point, we couldn’t stop laughing. We were having so much fun and we hadn’t even gone IN yet 😛

When we eventually DID get in we got yet another drink (Midori and Sprite for me, thank you very much!), which was to be our last for the night.

Image

We danced on the podiums, Chimmercharlie got chatted up by a British guy and then I spied a potential dance partner (which is so rare, you have no idea… I’m very picky :P) and Chimmercharlie forced me to go over and say hi. Eventually I did and it turned out he was just about to go to Mink so we joined him and his friend. The taxi drive with all 4 of us was a little awkward, but we did our best!! Free entry to Mink and we weren’t even ID’d! This guy’s friend was on a guestlist so it was pretty smooth.

Mink, however, was not what I’d thought it would be. The dancefloor consisted of big ass podium things (don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice club… just not a dancing club) and the podiums were SO STICKY you couldn’t walk. It was a bit gross.

So we bailed. But the guys didn’t come with. Oh well, their loss. *Shrugs*

We went back to Clarke Quay to finish off the night but couldn’t be bothered to go back to Attica so we went and sat on the bridge until we decided to go home at about 2:10am-ish.

I had the nicest taxi driver, he was a real sweetie and we hit it off. Crashed into bed at around 3am, only to get up this morning at 7am to go and hike around Bukit Timah Nature Reserve for 2 hours. It was a fun hike but BOY was it moggy down there…

Anyway, I’m just about to head out the door again to meet up with Lina for lunch and mani-pedi’s (it’s been so long!!!). So yeah, I’m late now, oh well, bye!!

No More Stitches!!

Image

I’ve been busy so far today! I’ve been on an hour long hike around the Botanical Gardens, had a shower and had my stitches pulled out of my mouth! Hooray! Oh, and done a few errands on the way home. I’m just about to head out for some shopping now with my mum and sister… it’ll be… interesting. Especially after last night. *Sigh* Oh well, whatever.

The cat has taken to housing herself in my room, taking refuge from her oh-so-wearysome lifestyle on my bed. Can’t lie, I’m loving having her close to me after all her years of being anti-social towards us all 😛

My room is so empty now!! :

Shipping Out

All the boxes are packed. The 20 foot container is packed. My room is empty. The house is empty. Everything is done. DONE!

So great.

Not without drama mind you.

Naturally.

So what happened today… well I woke up and jogged (yay me!) and then sat in a room and watched more Buffy (season 5 now hella yeaaaaah). I was supposed to go Prom shopping with my sister today but she opted out when she heard one of my friends was coming too. This is a crucial piece of information for this story. She stayed at home because my friend was joining us. She later changed this excuse to: mum needed me to stay home for moral support.

Anyway, I went out and bought mum a card to say she’s awesome for dealing with the move etc. Lina, my friend, and I were having a great time shopping and making fun of things in shops and had finally gotten around to looking at prom dresses for me when I got a very rude phone call from my sister. REALLY rude. Then she hung up on me and I tried on a few more. I was zipping another one up when the phone rang again… only this time it was mum. Thus ensued a 20 minute screamed rant from her about how I’d misplaced my sister’s purse (which I hadn’t- but that didn’t matter) and now she couldn’t go clubbing because her fake ID was in there. Her ID was missing therefore *I* couldn’t go clubbing either. She yelled and yelled and I was just stood there in a changing room, trying to keep the dress up and to not either scream or burst into tears. I hadn’t misplaced my sister’s damn purse. I know I hadn’t. I’m not that careless.

But it didn’t matter because my precious freaking doll of a sister couldn’t go clubbing now because the purse was missing- presumably packed away in a box somewhere. It really hurt because mum made it out to sound like she’d rather believe I was lying about misplacing the purse than the purse being stolen by one of the 10 or so men in the house today. I know it can’t have been stolen, these guys are really good, it was probably packed accidentally- it wouldn’t be the first time it had happened. Earlier today, or was it yesterday? One of the guys accidentally packed AN ENTIRE CHAIR that was in my sister’s room WHILE SHE WAS THERE. Didn’t anyone yell at her for it? Nope. They just unpacked the chair and were done with it.

If they can accidentally pack a CHAIR, how freaking easy a slip would it be to accidentally pack a PURSE.

But no, clearly I’m lying.

Grrrr.

Anyway, mum hangs up on me and I’m left for the next 4 hours believing I’m in a freaking ton of trouble because somehow it’s my fault that my poor darling sister had had her ID packed away. I went to buy mum a red velvet cupcake (which I’d written about in the card I’d bought her 2 hours prior to the phone call), only to find them all sold out. So, believing I was about to die at the hands of my mum, I got an extra cab to get them both cake to say sorry- even though it wasn’t my fault- only to come home and find them all playing happy frexing families.

Oh, we’re all over it. Oh, it’s all ok now. Oh, she’s got one from a friend now. Oh, don’t be so grumpy, oh god you can’t be in a bad mood.

Nearly got in trouble because I WAS SCARED I’D BE IN TROUBLE.

For FOUR FREAKING HOURS I wandered around thinking I was about to be in trouble because my sister lost her ID. Nope. I’m not in trouble for that, I’m in trouble for being affronted by their blatant bipolarism.

I couldn’t handle it!

I had to go to my bedroom and cry for a bit, just to get the emotional stress out of my system. Then dad heard me and walked in. Ughhhh. I told him how I felt and got a lecture about how I should have taken the fall for it anyway. Apparently that’s the ADULT thing to do. *Rolls eyes*

I give up. I really do.

Anyway, here’s my cat. She’s decided to fall asleep on my bed. So cute!

On a positive note in the midst of all this ick of a night- I think I’ve found 2 dresses to choose between for prom. Yay!

Unexpected…

So today has been the complete and total opposite of what I had thought would happen. The packers arrived… and we all moved into mum’s room, lay on the bed and watched Buffy up until now. No kidding. I’m waiting for my sister to get back so we can watch the season finale!

Mum wants us to go prom dress shopping once it’s done.

Where is the stress? The sweating? The huffing and puffing and a mother losing her patience and temper? Not here, my friend, not here.

I’m having a LOVELY day 😀

Back to Buffy- here are some selfies with my dog :3

A Weekend of Hard Work Later

A Weekend of Hard Work Later

Ta daaa!

Ok- I know pretty much all of you have NEVER MET ME EVER IN PERSON EVER and have therefore never been in my room before… but this is huge. My room is EMPTY o.O

There is so much SPACE in here… it’s weird! D:

I’m pretty much living out of a suitcase- there are 3 post card things saying “DO NOT PACK” scattered on the piles beside my bed, but apart from that everything is going. All my books- ALL OF THEM!

I’ve saved 5 to read between now and when I leave. I’d say 5 is too few (considering how fast I read books…) but there are many factors to consider:
1) I’m in Ladakh for 2 weeks and can’t read them
2) I’ve been off school for 1 week and haven’t touched any so far
3) I’m not likely to get a chance to read much until I fly to Phuket and or Australia… which is in a month give or take
4) The weight limit on luggage

So yeah. I’d keep more books but I really can’t…

Now after all this hard work (and for 2 days of stress ahead- the packers come in for 2 days) I SHALL REWARD MYSELF WITH BUFFY! 😀

Last 7 episodes of Season 4 come to mama :3
