Living the High Life

Living the High Life

What does a normal 18 year old girl that’s about to finish her IB diploma do on a Saturday night, I hear you ask?

Well, allow me to give you some insight.

She goes to an 18th Birthday Party for a friend that she’s known and loved for 14 years. Yes. She rocks out and parties hard.

Because that’s what you do at a ‘Childhood Dress-Up’ party. You dress up as a character- not a sexy animal- and go to a party where you play ‘Pass-the-Parcel’ and ‘Disney Karaoke’ and ‘Treasure Hunt’… among other activities.

And you know what else a NORMAL 18 year old pre-graduating girl does mid-dress-up-party? She leaves half an hour in to go to the Opera.

*Nods sagely*

Hang on… none of you are nodding with me… you mean to tell me normal 18 year olds prefer to go clubbing and hook up with STD-riddled strangers because they’re too drunk to notice?

Oh.

Guess I’m a little less than normal then.

OH WELL! I had an absolute blast last night! As I said, I went to a dress-up party (I went as the Greek Goddess Athena- pretty good considering I had to throw the outfit together in about 18 minutes flat…). Chimmercharlie went as Wednesday Adams. Other people dressed up as: Zorro, Red Riding Hood, Nature Guardian/ Poison Ivy, Doctor Who (11th Doctor), Monkey, Cat, Indian Traditional Dress and something from ‘The Legend of Kora’.

Yeah, but Chimmercharlie and I had to leave nearly as soon as we arrived in order to flit off half way across Singapore to go to a mini-Opera, or an Operetta if you will, with another friend- I’ve known him for 14 years as well! Such a blast to the past! Anyway, the Opera was called “Opera Comique: At The Airport”, a French Opera that was played by Singaporeans. They spoke their “witty script” in English and then burst into popular Opera songs in German, French or Italian. It was so funny! They sang two of my all time favourite songs: ‘The Laughing Song’ and something from ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (I can’t remember the title…).

So yeah!

Then we went back to the party for a bit before going home! I had such a lovely time. Can’t wait for the next Opera to come to Singapore, haha!

Ugh… back to work.

Queen Of DONE

Queen Of DONE

So I’ve handed in my Philosophy IA (and slipped in a cheeky ‘Happy Belated Birthday’ in while I was at it- we’re throwing her a party tomorrow lunchtime), she was so chilled and happy and YAY!

Then I printed in and handed in my final CAS Reflection. He told me I’ll go far in life and that if I ever needed a job he’d hire me in an instant. He told me my contributions to CAS in my school (the 20/20 project in particular) has been spectacular and that he wants a soft copy of all my Reflections (grrr) so that he can put them up on boards.

I shared a polite mini-conversation with nearly all the headteam teachers. I think I’m back in with my HoY (one of the men I hate more than IB, if it’s even possible). You should have SEEN me bantering away with all those adults like the prim little good girl that I am.

I feel like the star of one of those corny coming-of-age movies (Sandy, pre-badass transformation). You know, the annoyingly good girl that is friends with everyone in the school and does fun favours for the teachers? Yeah. The one who people just wish will get hit by a bus? Yup, yup, yup. Haha… I don’t even know if I’m laughing because I semi want it to happen or not.

Right now I’m leaning more towards not wanting to get hit by a bus… my mind might change later today though. Y’know. When the sleep-deprivation hits and I want to die in a hole. Right now I seem to be surfing on some kind of reserve energy store. I’m not sleepy. I’m probably jinxing it, but right now I’m FULLY OPERATIONAL DOCTOR *salutes*

Anyway. Chinese. Write later! 😀

It’s amazing that I haven’t collapsed yet… on

Don’t Wanna Run

Don't Wanna Run

It’s 2:30am. I’m so not tired. What is this. School’s back on Tuesday and I’m so unprepared. My own fault but you won’t hear me say THAT out loud haha.

Just got home from a surprise birthday party for a girlie of mine. She’s such a sweetie and we all love her! (Yes, Wangster, I’m talking about you!)

Anyway, we all dressed “smasually” for the event and went to “hide”… but not before I got lost about 3 times.

We all had a lovely dinner then headed to Orchard Road to have follow up drinks… SHOTS OF WATER FOR MEEEE! Hardcore right here.

Wangster and Nataree gave me my Christmas prezzie, which I wore for the rest of the night, only taking it off to get home so that I didn’t get TOO many weird looks. On a normal day I wouldn’t have a problem with getting weird looks, I’m used to it.

But I was to be sharing a cab with a guy friend and I’m not sure if he’s as comfortable with being a spectacle as I am, haha.

Also- the worn item just so happened to be an awesome purple-lacy-with-black-and-white-polka-dotties bra. Score. Haha!

I will miss Singapore so much. I have the bestest friends a girl could wish for, wouldn’t trade them for the world. It’ll be tough when we all vanish to our different corners of the Earth.

The Wangster is a gorgeous girl, inside and out (I swear it’s impossible to get a BAD photo of her -.-). She is so calm and composed ALL THE TIME! She isn’t superhuman, she doesn’t pretend to be, which just makes her more wonderful. I don’t know how she holds herself the way she does, I’m quite envious. I’ve never seen her mad at someone or in a fight. No-one has a bad word to say about her, she just walks with this glow of loveliness about her that’s impossible to ignore, impossible to NOT be drawn to.

We told the bar guy (where we had drinks) that it was her birthday, and he gave us a free mixer of coke. Sweet guy, haha. We all played drinking games (me with water though, because I’m a sad git like that haha) until about 1 in the morning before heading home.

I have to run in the morning. Shoot me. I don’t want to run. FML. (Oh dear- yet another first world problem…). NIGHT! 🙂

Happy December First!

Image

Hope you all had a lovely Saturday! I did! Went shopping with my mum and sister, bought a few Christmas presents and then went to a friend’s birthday party. I’ve started making him a scrapbook, which I intend to give to him on Monday. Only have a TOK essay to write tomorrow so I think I might just finish watching BOF… damn Chimmercharlie, got me watching all of it again, dear lord you can’t just watch a few episodes of these, you have to watch all of them.

*Sigh*

What else to say? I want to say interesting stuff but I’m kind of running out of ideas… Hmm, well the badge on my t-shirt is of Kim Hyun Joong, yes, I have quite a few of his badges. And posters. And postcards. And notebooks. And pens. And shirts. And DVDs. And CDs. And kitkats. (<– I’m not even kidding… maybe I’ll post you guys a photo :D). Yeah. Wow. I have a lot of his stuff haha. OH and I have a mug! WIth his face on it! Yay. I love him. So much. Too much. I don’t know what I did with my life before I knew about him. Honestly. When he comes on the screen I cry because my heart just blows to pieces in the mere presence of his beauty. You might think I’m kidding (if you don’t know k-culture, I’m sure you’ll think I’m kidding), but I’m honest to goodness not. Just ask my mum… or friends… or just random people who have walked past me in the library who have seen me watching it on my laptop. It’s my badge of honour, how much I love him, put into physical representation. My catharsis. His beauty causes me emotional damage, which I relieve through tears and vocalisations. Family members who walk past my bedroom door used to open the door to see if I was ok… now they just let me be.

I just love him too much for words. GAH! Ok, I should really stop talking. Ok, well, happy December everyone! 😀

23 SLEEPS UNTIL CHRISTMAS PEOPLE!
